Auggie had a very negative prior experience regarding grooming and he simply “couldn’t be groomed”. Dogs live in the moment they are in, and Auggie is taking his confidence cue from my energy. I’m focused in my intent with Auggie and I will correct in the event he needed it…..here I illustrate some techniques I utilize. Now, we have a calm, submissive state of mind while doing a task that previously couldn’t be accomplished with this little guy. Notice I make Auggie “Wait” until he can jump down. My camera pooped out at the end, but Auggie waited patiently until I invited him down. Good Auggie!
