I do a little work with a dog BEFORE I start grooming them and AFTER I groom as well!!! I set the tone and mindset of a dog before I tackle anything that is challenging for them (like grooming). And after they’ve accomplished a difficult task, I do a little work on skills they are GREAT at. Basic stuff. Nothing challenging. For grooming, notice the grip I have on her jowl. I’m prepared BEFORE I begin grooming to SHUT DOWN THE SILLINESS. I only apply pressure if I need to shut down the silliness, but I never let go of the grip with a dog that has difficulty with grooming. Www.alysonrodges.com
